Lake Gogi, one of the deepest lakes in Armenia, is known as Kaputan. Its maximum depth is 22 meters and it has a glacial origin. It is located in the Zangezur mountain range in the Syunik region and is the largest glacial lake of the latter. Gogi Lake is located at an altitude of 3202m. The catchment area of the lake is 2 km². The lake is registered in the list of state monuments of the Republic of Armenia.
Due to its location on the border of Armenia’s Vayots Dzor and Azerbaijan’s Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, and out of concern at the moment, group trips to Gogi Lake are not organized.
